The Renens Music School Association (AEMR) organizes the Christina Auer-Lobeck Music Competition with the aim of encouraging the work of young people studying a musical instrument. It is open to all non-professional musicians up to the age of 25 and takes place on Saturday, February 28, 2026, at the Collège du Léman, Joran building, in Renens. The auditions are held behind closed doors, but exceptions may be made for the youngest participants.

Repertoire
The repertoire is free, and participants may play as many pieces as they wish within the allotted time. For the sake of fairness, it is important to respect the time limits corresponding to each category.
Discuss your project with your teacher, who will help you prepare your piece.
Depending on registrations, the organizers reserve the right to merge or cancel one or more categories.

Categories
Each candidate performs according to the following categories and time limits::

Prices
Prizes are planned for each category, and a special “Jury’s Favorite” award of CHF 100.00 will be given to a particularly deserving student. All participants will receive a certificate.
Schedule
Participants, their teacher, and any accompanist are expected to reserve the entire day. In any case, we will not consider requests for specific time slots.
The performance schedule will be available below from Saturday, February 21, 2026.
No individual communication will be made regarding the schedule. Participants are expected to check the website for this purpose.
Accompaniment
Students may, if they wish, be accompanied by a person of their choice. Please note that the Christina Auer-Lobeck Competition does not provide accompanists, and it is therefore the responsibility of participants to find someone available, if needed.
Chamber Music
For the 2026 edition, it has been decided that there will be no “Chamber Music” category.
Sheets music
Each candidate must provide a copy of the scores to be performed.
Jury
The jury is composed of teachers from the Renens Music School, who are recognized professional musicians. All jury decisions are final and without appeal. Legal recourse is excluded.
Prize Ceremony
The prize ceremony for categories I and II will take place on the same day at 1:00 PM. The prize ceremony for categories III and IV will take place on the same day at 5:00 PM. Depending on the number of participants in each category, the prize ceremony schedule may vary slightly.
Registration
Registration is done online using the form below.
A registration fee of CHF 20.00 is required for students who are not members of the Renens Music School (EMR). This fee must be paid in cash on site, on the day of the competition. Participation is offered free of charge by the AEMR to students of the Renens Music School.
The registration deadline is Monday, February 16, 2026, at the latest, using the form below. For organizational reasons, it is imperative to respect this deadline.
The number of participants is limited to 50 musicians. Registrations will be processed on a first-come, first-served basis.
